Diary of 5 ~ January 26, 2012

I am seeing... idea board cleared away and awaiting new inspiration.

I am hearing... 2 sisters singing and another playing guitar... songs of praise filling the house.

I am smelling... spicy black beans simmering on the stove.

I am tasting... Constant Comment tea with honey and soy milk.

I am feeling... the nudge of creativity- fabric for prayer flags drying as I write!

    1. I cook black beans like pintos- a splash of olive oil (bacon if you prefer), salt, pepper, onion. For these Spicy Black Beans I also added: cumin, chili powder, Mexican oregano, parsley, and a can of tomatoes once the beans were tender.
To serve- either use as a side dish or I like them as a "soup"- garnished with a sprinkle of cheese, sour cream, chopped onion, cilantro, chilis ... tortilla chips or cornbread :) .

    2. Yum...those black beans sound wonderful! I bought a bag of dried black beans but I haven't made them yet. I make pintos regularly since they're a favorite of my hubby!

  2. I love the sound of my children singing anything, but I especially love it when they are singing praise and worship songs the best. I am intrigued by the prayer flags... =)
