Blue ...

Bluebonnets, the state flower of Texas!

There is a lovely legend that goes along with the Bluebonnet, click here to read it if you are interested.

I wanted to share a photo of one of my favorite blue flowering herbs - Borage (click here for illustration), but alas I cannot find the photo in my computer files and my camera has gone missing!  Not a good thing, a missing camera with lots and lots of family photos on it ... (sigh) .

There are some other interesting herbs that either bloom blue or are otherwise associated with the color blue- blue cohosh, blue vervain, rosemary ... lots of blue herbs!

And then there is St. John's Wort ... an herb that is said to help when you are feeling blue.

What is your favorite shade of blue?  I love the clear blue of a summer sky, and robin's egg blue.

  1. Pretty blue flower. I love blue flowers but there are not a lot of them. I grow delphiniums one of my favorites.
